God Is My Source

Pray for dependence on God as the ultimate source of every good provision.

Scripture

Psalm 23:1-6

The LORD is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over. Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the LORD's house forever.

Matthew 6:31-33

“Therefore don't be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?', ‘What will we drink?' or, ‘With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.

James 1:16-18

Don't be deceived, my beloved brothers. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow. Of his own will he gave birth to us by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

Pray these

  1. Father, turn my trust away from people, institutions, and income as ultimate sources.
  2. Father, help me seek Your kingdom and righteousness first.
  3. Father, give me gratitude for every channel through which You provide.
  4. Father, teach me to work responsibly without making work an idol.
  5. When one channel closes, keep my heart steady in the unchanging Father of good gifts.
