Weariness

Pray for renewed strength, lighter burdens, and sustainable faithfulness.

Scripture

Isaiah 40:27-31

Why do you say, Jacob, and speak, Israel, “My way is hidden from the LORD, and the justice due me is disregarded by my God?” Haven't you known? Haven't you heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, doesn't faint. He isn't weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might. Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall; But those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.

Matthew 11:28-30

“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Galatians 6:9-10

Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don't give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let's do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.

Pray these

  1. Father, show me the difference between faithful perseverance and unhealthy overextension.
  2. Father, help me come to Jesus instead of carrying every burden alone.
  3. Father, renew my physical, emotional, and spiritual strength.
  4. Father, give me permission and wisdom to rest, delegate, grieve, and receive help.
  5. Father, keep me from quitting the good assignment, while teaching me a sustainable pace.
