Experience the Glory of God

Pray for knowing God’s presence and being transformed by His glory.

Scripture

Exodus 33:12-23

Moses said to the LORD, “Behold, you tell me, ‘Bring up this people:' and you haven't let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found favor in my sight.' Now therefore, if I have found favor in your sight, please show me now your way, that I may know you, so that I may find favor in your sight: and consider that this nation is your people.” He said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” He said to him, “If your presence doesn't go with me, don't carry us up from here. For how would people know that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people? Isn't it that you go with us, so that we are separated, I and your people, from all the people who are on the surface of the earth?” The LORD said to Moses, “I will do this thing also that you have spoken; for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name.” He said, “Please show me your glory.” He said, “I will make all my goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the LORD's name before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.” He said, “You cannot see my face, for man may not see me and live.” The LORD also said, “Behold, there is a place by me, and you shall stand on the rock. It will happen, while my glory passes by, that I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and will cover you with my hand until I have passed by; then I will take away my hand, and you will see my back; but my face shall not be seen.”

John 1:14-18

The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth. John testified about him. He cried out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me, for he was before me.'” From his fullness we all received grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The one and only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him.

2 Corinthians 3:16-18

But whenever one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face seeing the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit.

Pray these

  1. Father, increase my hunger to know You, not merely to seek spiritual sensations.
  2. Reveal the beauty of Christ through Scripture and the Holy Spirit.
  3. Father, remove veils of unbelief, pride, distraction, and hardened desire.
  4. Transform my character as I behold You.
  5. Father, let every genuine encounter produce worship, holiness, love, and mission.
